Find your motivation by writing down the top 10 reasons why you want to lose fat. Read those reasons often to ensure that you stay motivated.
Step 2: Plan how you are going to achieve it
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Make sure that you succeed and not fail by setting solid plans to achieve your target of fat loss. One of the best way to plan is to set goals. Set exercise, diet and other goals and make sure that they are smart - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bounded.
Step 3: Opt for cardio interval training
The only cardio that you should be spending time on (except for everyday cardio like walking), is cardio interval training - it burns the most fat. For best results you should commit to 3 sessions a week of 20 minutes each.
Step 4: Weight train regularly
Weight training is also one of the very best exercises for fat loss. Train your lower and upper body on separate days, with cardio in between weight training sessions (or on the same day if you like).
Excellent exercise for the lower body are: lunges, squats and calf raises.
And good exercises for the upper body are bicep curls, tricep extensions, upright row and shoulder raises.
Step 5: Get some extra exercise in
Taking every opportunity you can get, to burn off more calories, will help you to get leaner faster.
Think of things like walking your dog, playing outside with your kids or taking the stairs instead of the lift.
Step 6: Keep a food dairy
Start keeping a food dairy where you write down everything that you ate, the time and how you felt (happy, sad or bored). It will help you to control your snacking and will also help you to stick to portion sizes.
Step 7: Consume slightly less calories
Cut down on your carb contents for lunch and dinner, bulk your meals up with salads and have more vegetables and you will consume much less calories.
You should also watch the calorie contents in your drinks. Rather stick to water and limit your alcohol intake.
